Next to the names of these men the word “Hero” will be etched in stone. They gave their lives trying to contain a wild fire, forged by lightning, and threatening their community. A service which comes with inherent risk, but always an afterthought for the individuals required to take on these burdens.
Reality struck the families of these Heroes as they learned about the single largest loss of life in the Firefighting community since September 11th, 2001. As the wind shifted the fire, these Heroes took a last ditch defensive poster to survive the onslaught of flames. On August 31st, at CrossFit Oshkosh we will be hosting a workout in support of the families devastated by this tragedy. Of the funds raised 100% will be donated to the families, some of whom do not qualify for the benefits bestowed upon fulltime firefighters, due to their seasonal status.
Join us at 9:30 am on Saturday in support of the families struck by this tragedy. If you have friends interested in CrossFit feel free to bring them in to watch and then participate in the FREE community WOD at 11 am. 100% of proceeds will be donated to the families of this tragedy.
